Title: New 911 Service
Post by: Lavarock7 on September 10, 2015, 11:35:26 AM
Oahu will start a new 911 service.

In an emergency, seconds count. So imagine picking up the phone and the 911 operator instantly knows all about you, your home and those who live with you. That could happen under Oahu's new Smart911 program.

Emergency operators will be able to instantly know about medical conditions, disabilities and exactly how to get to your home because people sign up to tell them ahead of time.

Great to hear that Smart911 is spreading.  We've had it here in WA for a while now, and it has already saved some lives.

Just to clarify for the inevitable posters who think this is a new way to provision 911 on an OBi:  no, this is is an enhancement to the existing 911 system in the US.  It is unrelated to anything specific to OBi devices.
