Title: Obi 100 upgrade to Obi 202, and transfer of Obi 100 to my neighbor
Post by: 73jagman on November 12, 2015, 02:23:51 PM
I think it's pretty straightforward to upgrade my Obi 100 to Obi 202, but how do I transfer my Obi 100 to my neighbor. Do I de-register it after my Obi 200 setup and installation, and then re register the Obi 100 in his name when I install it for my (80 year old) neighbor on his internet network.

Hi Terry:

Did you trade your neighbor the OBi for the '73 Jag?  Nice ride!

The answer depends on how much you want to be involved in supporting your neighbor's telephone system.  You can either simply delete the device off of your OBiTALK portal page, and then factory-reset it for good measure, and then set it up on a new portal page for him, or you can leave it as-is on your portal page, configure it for him, and then, when something goes awry, you'll be able to access it on your portal page.  It doesn't matter, from a technical standpoint.

I sent a friend an OBi, and I just leave it on my own portal page, so I can help him with setup or support if needed.
