Title: Adding a prefix to an inbound CNAM?
Post by: lrosenman on January 18, 2016, 05:29:03 PM
On my asterisk/freepbx system, I can add a caller-id prefix depending on what inbound route stuff came in.

Is there any way to do that with the SP's on my Obi? (GV especially), but SIP as well

If using Voip.Ms, you can add some alpha-numeric stuff on the DID. That item is called "CallerID Name Prefix (Optional)". However this is before Voip.Ms sends to your Obi.

I can do it if I route stuff through the Asterisk box.  I'm looking to do this on the Obi.....

X_InboundCallRoute:
{(<A>@.):ph}

Some phones will not display an alpha-numeric callerid.

I'm looking to prefix whatever CNAM (Caller-ID Name) comes from the Provider.

I.E. if the CallerIDNAME from the provider is "Larry Rosenman" what I want the OBI to send to the phone is:
"LER: Larry Rosenman"

with the full 10-digit Caller-ID NUMBER
