Title: Auto Provisioning OFF and password still reverts to default 8 digit
Post by: 777funk on June 23, 2016, 04:20:20 PM
I have a strange issue. I will change the password on my Obi100 and as soon as it restarts it reverts to some 8 character default PW that was there previously. I have auto provisioning off. What gives?

1. Which auto-provisioning(s) disabled?  Obitalk, ITSP?

2.  It seems that you know the 8 digit password, so did you set it.

Are you setting the password in expert mode? If so, are you unchecking both boxes?

I've had this "issue" as well -- in air quotes because I'm not sure how much of it is attributable to pibkac and how much of it to some bug in the ui.  At any rate, if I understand correctly, you disable auto-provisioning on the device and then proceeded to make configuration changes on you Obi device's webui directly.  The changes you'd make, in this case, a password, would revert to the Obitalk setting for that field.  The way I "fixed" this was by going to obitalk.com where I had made the original change to the auto-provisioning setting and then finding the same setting(ie. the password) in that interface and changing it there as well.

It feels kind of sloppy since one of the things I expected by disabling auto provisioning was that I don't have to worry about Obitalk touching my settings at all moving forward.  Please let me know if this is kind of what your concern is about and/or if you need more details since I gave you the tl;dr version.
