Title: Dropping calls, static when taking off hook
Post by: williamthrilliam on July 15, 2011, 12:40:18 PM
It all began with my Obi, configured directly with the use of this: http://www.obihai.com/itspConfiguration/itspConfiguration-googlevoice.html

At first everything worked perfectly, but then things got weird.  The call would drop about a minute and a half in to the conversation.  Sometimes when I picked up the phone, there would just be static and the call would drop.  I figured this was a firmware issue, so I updated to the latest version.  Now all I get is static when I try to dial a number or a call comes in.

I thought this might just be a GV issue, so I did a manual hard reset by unplugging everything but the power from the obi and using a paperclip to reset the device.  I then set up call centric using this:

And the same thing is happening.

I am on:
ModelName   OBi100
HardwareVersion   2.8
SoftwareVersion   1.2.1 (Build: 2384)

Have you tried to use a different phone or replaced the telephone line? Also, when you experience the static, take a look at PHONE port status page, does it show normal 20 mA current, ~18 V VBAT, ~5 V TipRingVoltage?

State   Off Hook
LoopCurrent   20 mA
VBAT                   16 V
TipRingVoltage   5 V
LastCallerInfo   --

It stays that way for about 3 seconds then the Obi reboots.

Yes, these are correct status when your phone port is off-hook. Your device seems to operate fine. We might need a further look at your device regarding the problem..

please contact us at support@obihai.com, we will help you from there, thanks,
