Title: Can I plug in an Ethernet Wire from my Printer to the LAN port in the 202?
Post by: Dubb on December 28, 2016, 07:35:21 PM
I have a Obihai 202 plugged in from the wall and a wireless printer.

I want to wire the printer into the network so I was thinking to buy a switch and connect both devices but then I noticed the LAN port on the ObiHai

So can I plug it in? Will it be the same as if I used a switch? Will the printer still have a different IP?

Yes you can plug the printer into the LAN port of the OBi202 and yes it will get its own IP address.  However your computer(s) will probably not be able to communicate with the printer unless you change the OBi202 from router mode (its default) to bridge mode.

Easiest way to do that is to use the phone to dial ***0. Listen to the prompt then dial 31#. The current value '0' will be read out to you.  Follow the prompts to change it to '1'.
