Does anyone know if it is possible to connect an Obihai 1062 phone to a Skype for Business (2015) aka the Old Lync servers as an endpoint?

I am not looking for nay advanced features but I want to be able to receive and make calls using my SfB/Lync account on my phone.

As of now, no. The OBi phones support SIP or Google Chat/XMPP protocols. The Skype for Business installation would need third party software and a server for SIP device support.
