Title: Obi200 + 2 fi project numbers (ex GV): only one rings
Post by: DavidIllinois on March 13, 2017, 04:32:05 PM
Hello;

I have an Obi200 on wich I have configure 2 Fi Projects, ex GV numbers. The config when smoothly.
The first number is on SP1 and the second on SP2.

The first number has the phone ring normally, but the second does not do anything when called, nothing is shown happening in the call history.

The intended use is that both number have the phone line ring.

I searched the forum but didn't find anything.

When going to GV website to tick the Chat forward option, it's not there. I guess because of the Fi project migration.

Looking forward to reading you on this topic. Thanks in advance for your help.
David

Perhaps this.

GV recently introduced a new UI at google.com/voice which does not (yet?) have all the features of the previous one. If you are seeing that look at the bottom for an option to revert to the "legacy" version.

Try going here to see if you see the Chat option:

Project Fi does not support using OBi devices.  There is no setting to enable Chat.  It's always been that way, regardless of the new or "legacy" Google Voice user interface.

Thanks for your message.
Because of Project Fi, I don't have access to the new GV interface. I still use the old one.

Thanks for the link... but no chat option. :-(

Thank you for your message and the information saved.

As I like to understand how things work, regarding your comment, I don't understand how one line (SP1) works with the Obi device; and not the second line (SP2). Any idea?

Thanks again. Looking forward to reading you.

A few Fi numbers that were migrated over from Google Voice still seem to work with OBis.  It's unintentional and not officially supported, and no, there is no way to hack this to make your other number work.
