Title: OBi202 Lines Interfering
Post by: ynat11 on April 21, 2017, 05:35:53 AM
Hi I have the OBi202 and for some reason If both lines are being used they could hear each other very very low in the background. Any suggestions..?

The PHONE1 jack on the 202 is actually a 2-line jack. (Intended to support a 2-line phone.) It has PHONE1 on the centre two pins (ie 3 and 4) and PHONE2 on pins 2 and 5.  If the cord you have plugged in to the PHONE1 jack has more than 2 conductors going to its pins, try a cord that has conductors to only the middle two pins.  My thinking is that if both PHONE1 and PHONE2 signals are getting to the phone it may have some unintentional weak path between them.

There are also cheap adapters that split 4 wire (your phone 1 port) into two ports with 2 wires each. That might help if your phone is causing the crosstalk.

Thanks guys. I replaced a few adapters in my wiring and the problem disappeared however those weren't line 1-2 adapters just regular one port to 3 port or 1-1 for extension.
