Title: oAuth disabled_client error when linking Google Voice
Post by: BM85 on August 11, 2017, 12:13:50 AM
On the final step of linking my Google Voice account to my Obi account, I click the "Finish Setup" button and then get an OAuth2 error popup. The http response code is 401, the error is "disabled_client," and the description is "The OAuth client was disabled." Can't proceed.

Any thoughts?

I have had an account for a while with OBiTalk and all of my google voice accounts are not working this morning.  I am getting the same error message:

401. That's an error.

Error: disabled_client

The OAuth client was disabled.

I had to reset my internet today. After reset, I am having same issue.
I have tried everything, logged in/ out multiple times. Deleted the connection and added it again, upgraded firmware, removed permissions from my google account; nothing seems to work.

401. That's an error.

Error: disabled_client

The OAuth client was disabled.

I just got the OBi200 2 days ago and it was working great at my desk. I moved it to the connection for the whole house (and Alarm System), and I got a message that the password needs to be updated. Logged in to the OBiTalk portal and now I get the same OAuth error message.

I suggest "Do not adjust your set" and wait for Obihai and/or GV to fix whatever is broken.

We are all OOS right now.  For anyone still within their warranty period, please put in a support request so we make sure Obi is aware of this problem and can get it fixed.

Thank you.

I'm thinking this is widespread and Obi will need to resolve this with Google.  I agree with drgeoff, don't break your configs while waiting for Obi to fix the issue.

Too late for me. I already deleted one of my GV numbers and now cannot add it back. :(

My primary line (ported to GV) is still configured in Obi (as outgoing) and I am getting inbound calls via Callcentric. Hope they fix this mess soon.

I too am OOS for warranty and have a Obi 200.

this has happened to me as well this morning. OBi202 gives me the error about changing google password which i did not change it and then a aut error when logging into obi portal and clicking on the

"Sign-in to the correct account, and then,
Click Here to connect the OBi with your active Google Account"

which gives the pop up:

401. That's an error.

Error: disabled_client

The OAuth client was disabled.

Count me in on this festival of no fun. I have an Obi100 and a Obi110 each configured to separate Google Voice accounts. The account with the Obi100 is not working, getting the same auth error that everyone else is getting. Blew out the settings and of course can't get them back in. The Obi110 is still working with it's number, but have to wonder how long. Curious if this issue is affecting the newer devices. If so then we might get a fix, if not we may be SOOL as Google doesn't exactly move quickly to fix stuff (as anyone who has had an Android phone can attest).

Folks:  I've confirmed with Obihai, that they are working on this.

There is no point whatsoever to anyone reconfiguring or upgrading firmware on the OBi devices at this time; please just stand by.

When I tried using my Phone this morning via the Obhai device, I got a message saying some thing like the phone is not in service. I logged on to OBITALK and it looks like Google Voice (SP1) was not connected.

  I tried the following fix
1. Remove GV from SP1
2. Remove Device from my OBIHAI account
3. Do a factory reset on OBIHAI200
4. Add the device back on to my OBIAHI200 account.
5. Tried to add GV to SP1. I got to step 7 where you get a popup window to sign onto Google VOice but I got the following error message in the Popup windows from Google:

401. That's an error.

Error: disabled_client

The OAuth client was disabled.

FWIW, add me to the OAuth list... I guess it's every OBi/GV user. thankfully I have a working cell phone
Title: addendum - maybe this will help the tech's working on the problem

I have a friend in Germany who also has an OBi200. We were able to call each other using the OBi NUMBER which bypasses GV. but he has NO problem calling any US NON Obi# with his phone - which is depending on GV just like we are. So it must be a google server(s) in the US

There is NO need for further posts on this issue.  Obihai support is working on this right now.  It should be resolved today.

Still not working here but there is a change. I don't get the 401 error anymore when configuring the Google Voice Account. What does happen is that it in the web interface goes back to "configuring" on the Google Voice and stays there for several minutes before failing (without a specific error).
