Title: OBI110 with two phone company provided lines
Post by: nockam on September 02, 2011, 10:48:45 PM
I am interested in buying another OBI110 device (for a relative) but would like to know how it might work if I have two phone lines (two numbers, two lines, same physical jack).

Would I be able to select which physical land line I wanted to place outbound calls on? If so, would it be the same way i do it now with buttons on the phone or would it require dialing a code before the number i want to call?

Could I receive inbound calls on both lines through the OBI device + whatever VOIP lines i have configured?

Thanks,

Garrett

The OBi only connects to Line 1 on both the LINE Port and PHONE Port jacks.  The LINE Port supports 1 PSTN line only.  The PHONE Port supports single line telephones only.

You can have multiple service providers on an OBi (PSTN/SP1/SP2/OBiTALK).  Incomining calls from any provider ring the PHONE Port.  If the PHONE Port is already in use, you'll get a Call Waiting signal.

Outbound calls are made by default through the service defined at:

Physical Interfaces -> PHONE Port -> PrimaryLine

An alternate service can be used by prefixing the dialed number with:

**1  ->  SP1 Service
**2  ->  SP2 Service
**8  ->  PSTN Line
**9  ->  OBiTALK Service
