Title: OBITALK + GV and 911
Post by: capekid on September 08, 2011, 08:49:38 AM
Greetings,

Wondering if someone can advise me on connecting my OBITALK and GV to my telephone line so I can use 911 service. Question is... when connected in that configuration would I be using my telephone line service(from telephone provider) or OBITALK + GV for calls I make, local and long distance.

Thanks

The default service that the OBi uses for outbound calls is selected by the following setting in the OBi:

Physical Interfaces -> PHONE Port -> PrimaryLine

If this is set to SP1 Service, calls will be made through Google Voice.

If this is set to PSTN Line, calls will be made though the LINE Port (your telephone company).

You can select an alternate service by prefixing the dialed number with:

**1  ->  SP1 Service
**2  ->  SP2 Service
**8  ->  PSTN Line
**9  ->  OBiTALK Servvice

911 calls are always placed through the PSTN Line regardless of the PrimaryLine setting.
