Title: Lost Google Access
Post by: rich_in_forum on February 21, 2019, 08:28:22 AM
My google account is temporarily (hopefully) locked.  I have GV setup to ring both the Carrier Phone number and the Obihai and this seems to still work (surprised as I cannot log into my google account).  I cannot place outbound calls from my carrier mobile phone using GV.  I am wondering if I can setup something on the ANDROID phone to make outbound calls from the mobile, via Obihai, using my GV number?  If so, how?

Define "locked".  Do you mean that you received a notice from Google that your access to a service has been blocked for abuse?  Or what, exactly?  For example, https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40039?p=grandcentral (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40039?p=grandcentral) or https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40695 (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40695)

If that's what you received, then no, you can't do anything else with Google Voice, and you may lose your phone number.

I have successfully changed my password and Google then required me to login.  I have 2FA enabled for which I ordinarily receive an SMS with the code.  Instead, it only offered validation via Google Authenticator.. and that did not return a code.

I had to answer some questions and get a code via my backup email.  Even though all of that was likely correct, Google replied they could not validate the account and it was under review.

I'm back in...quite a relief.
