Title: Change the name on the outgoing caller ID
Post by: jnelsoninjax on July 09, 2019, 04:47:24 PM
Right now when I call out on my Google Voice line, the name displayed is jnelsoninjax, is there anyway to change this? Using Obihai OBi200

The name displayed on the phone that you call is determined by the service provider of that far end phone.  The name you set on your OBi is NOT forwarded over the POTS or cellular telephone networks.

Google Voice service only has that Caller ID Number service and so your outbound call to a cell phone should display your Google Voice account phone number instead of that "jnelsoninjax".

Is this "jnelsoninjax" displaying at all receiving end?  Such as cell phones with various cell phone carriers?

Try moving (transferring) that current phone number to a different Gmail account (that do not have a phone number) then transfer back to the original Gmail account.  When done, make outbound call.  Does it still show "jnelsoninjax"...?  Or, display a phone number this time?

Good luck!

Are you calling a smartphone?  If so check that it doesn't have a "jnelsoninjax" contact for that phone number.
