Title: Power Cycled Itself :
Post by: bobbobbob on October 09, 2011, 02:17:28 PM
Hi all.... just bought this like 4 days ago.....getting used to it... Just got the VM Beepx4 to shut up..rofls..

Question is. : Is it common for this device to power cycle itself at times?.. I just saw the power light go red.. for a second.. then everything came back up.. I was in GV making some changes..etc.. Inbox Copy option..etc.. Nothing that i would have thought would have power cycled it. Perhaps a Firmware upgrade?.. im just curious as to what is "normal".. ie.. watch it closely to see if i have to return it..etc.. tyvm for the help..

Most likely what you saw was the OBi rebooting.  Unless you were having the firmware updated or the configuration changed from the OBiTALK Web Portal, the OBi should not reboot.  An exception to this is a loss of Ethernet connectivity.  When the Ethernet link is restored, the OBi will reboot.
