Title: New to OBI202: Porting Issues and setting up 2 phone lines
Post by: louisblock on May 02, 2020, 10:54:29 AM
I just purchased an OBI202. As I understand it I need to initially port my 2 land lines to 2 different T-Mobile sim cards on an unlocked phone that I don't have. What is the easiest and cheapest way to handle this?

Also, since I need to setup 2 phone lines, I assume I have to create 2 Google Voice accounts. Does this need to be done on 2 separate Gmail accounts?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Well, if you don't have access to an unlocked cell phone, then you can't port a number into a mobile carrier.  Simple as that.

You just need a cell carrier to port your landline over to a cell phone. Does not have to be unlocked phone. It can be a cell phone from a carrier. I did this with U.S.. cellular on an old phone. They were happy to help me. Then Google voice will accept the number as it then becomes a cell number. I did use 2 gmail accounts
