Title: Wall mounting an OBi100
Post by: N7AS on October 18, 2011, 04:21:06 PM
I have an OBi110 wall mounted on the side of a cabinet using the keyhole slots on the bottom of the unit. That works great. I would like to get an OBi100 and also wall mount it, but there are no keyhole slots. Does anyone have any ideas of how to wall mount the OBi100 without defacing it or drilling any additional holes?

Perhaps some 3M command adhesive strips would do the trick.

These  ("medium") claim to hold 3 lbs.  "For Mounting Items Or For Reusing With 3M Hooks & Picture Hangers."  Just keep the release tab visible.  They release cleanly.

Or maybe a couple of strips of velcro tape would work.

Just suggestions.  I cannot vouch for either method.

I never thought about that. I do have both items. If I use either of these methods, I would have to deal with the space that the feet take up between the bottom of the Obi100 and the mounting surface. Maybee find some kind of material to make up for that difference.

I was also wondering if I could get some thin but rigid plastic strip that I could put under the feet and drill it out so I could insert it between the case and then replace the foot screws. It would extend beyond the case sides a bit and could put mounting screws in it to the cabinet.

I'm open for any DIY ideas.

I would suggest plastic tack - usually comes in blue.  I love this stuff and use it for a number of different things.  The OBi100 is light so a good size gob of the plastic tack on the back should work fine!
