Title: 2 GV accounts , single 911 on obi202
Post by: PDX_Mark on September 04, 2020, 10:58:38 PM
Hello, I have an Obi 202 configured for 2 Google voice accounts

SP1 is Google Voice and passes voice calls onto asterisk by way of sp4

SP2 is Google Voice and passes fax calls to fax machine by way of Port 2

I have an e911 provider that I can route calls to (GV911.com) . That is configured in its simplest form on port1 using the following dial plan in the event tht someone connects a phone to port1 and tries to call 911

(<911:14242798234>S0|<922:14242798235>S0|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-
9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)

However, asterisk normally handles voice calls exchanging "911" for the "14242798234" to be dialed on GV (or any back-up provider by way of asterisk)

As port 2 is dedicated for fax use , I worry that someone may try to use a phone connected to Port2 or the fax machine to call 911. These calls do not pass through asterisk rather go to a dedicated hardware fax device. It would seem that maybe I can use the dial on port 2 plan to do something like:

(<911:14242798234@sp1>S0|<922:14242798235@sp1>S0|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-
9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)

Does anyone know for certain?

It looks like I can dial from Port2 (connected to SP2),  "**1+NUMBER" and access the provider on SP1 from Port2.

What Does seem to work is this dial plan fu.

<911:**114242798234>S0|<922:**114242798235>S0|

This is how it would appear normally, if it were not dialing across ports

<911:14242798234>S0|<922:14242798235>S0|
