Title: Volume & Sound Quality: OBI200 vs Computer Sound Card
Post by: JaskHill on September 18, 2020, 07:36:37 AM
Hi, I found that when I make phone calls via a telephone connected to OBI200, the volume & sound quality is inferior to a phone call, say a Skype call, made from my laptop using sound card.

The phone call from a laptop has much higher volume ( both incoming sound to the speaker and outgoing sound via the microphone ), and the sound is very rich and smooth. Probably it is using a different codec, or maybe the sound card in the laptop is of high quality.

I am wondering whether it is possible to have high-volume high-fidelity sound in OBI200 phone calls.

Does codec matter here?  Or is it a purely hardware limitation that prevents OBI200 from achieving hi-fi sound?

Thanks,

Your OBi is calling a POTS phone or a cellular phone?  Your Skype call is also to whichever of those or to another Skype endpoint on a computer?
