Title: Obihai Use With Russian Phone Number
Post by: 1BadBoy on December 01, 2020, 09:50:04 PM
I have a couple of Obihai devices (never really used). My wife and mother-in-law have bank relationships in Russia. Russian banks require a local phone number (2FA -- Two Factor Authentication) to access the account online. We have never been able to access account details because we lack a Russian phone number.

Question:
I could take an Obihai adapter to Russia and use it with a configured US phone number. Is it possible to get a Russian phone number configured on my Obihai adapter for use here in the US?

Yes, you can have a Russian number with the OBi, but you need to sign up for a service that will get you the number.

There are a few companies out there that will do this. e.g. Localphone will rent you a Russian number for $10/month + air time.
