Title: FIX for transferring GV calls from 2182 to 2182, Disconnects upon Transfer
Post by: jccpa on May 05, 2021, 06:38:26 PM
Transferring google voice - gv - calls between Obi2182 phones

Problem: When attempting to transfer incoming GV calls from one OBi2182 to another OBi2182, upon "Transfer Now" click, call immediately disconnects

Call History when pulled from the webserver interface on the SENDING/Transferring 2182 shows:
Call Ended (488 Not Acceptable Here)   /indicates codec mismatch

////

Voice Services / OBiTALK Service / OBiTalk Service Settings
   Codec Profile: B

/

Codecs / Codec Profile B /
Remove check for each codec except G711U Codec

/

Repeat for each device between which you wish to transfer calls

This worked for me. Try it out and see if it works for you. Please give feedback if it works or doesn't.

Apparently this is a known problem with OBi phones - appears to be a codec negotiation fault on the phones.

Turning on only OPUS rings incoming GV once and 2182 drops it, other devices continue to ring
Turning on both G.711u and OPUS works.

Turning on G.711u, OPUS, G.722, and G.729 works.

You're a genius! Thank you so much for pointing me in this direction. I have several Obi2182 devices, and this was the only solution I could find.

After playing around a bit, I discovered that simply removing the enable check on "Telephone Event" and leaving the other CODECs with their default settings also did the trick for me.

Thanks again.
