Title: Red power light
Post by: Potato on November 05, 2011, 07:12:57 PM
I have an OBI110 unit. When I plugged in the power, the light stays red. Does that mean the unit is dead? Any diagnosis I could do?

Thanks a lot!

Doesn't sound good.  Does it do that with nothing but the power supply connected?

You might try holding the reset button depressed for an extended period of time.  It's accessed through a hole on the bottom side of the unit.

After that, does a telephone connected to the PHONE Port get dialtone?

If so, does connecting the Ethernet port to your router and dialing ***1 report a valid IP address?

If so, does dialing **9 222 222 222 connect you to the echo test?

Ron,

Thank you very much for your reply!

The reset didn't help. Seems the board was damaged somehow. Don't know what I can do to restore it.

This unit for some reason has a 110v adapter - I bought two and one has a 110-220v adapter. So I plugged it into an outlet in China (220v) and now the unit is damaged.

Is there a simple fix?
