Title: Why add Obi device on obitalk.com at all?
Post by: highvoltage on July 17, 2021, 09:23:12 PM
I was just curious about why OBi200 users are told to add our devices on obitalk.com at all. Is there a way to set up the device locally by using one's web browser to access the device directly?

Yes you can do almost all configuration locally. OBis have an onboard web server. One thing you cannot do that way is configure an OBi to work with Google Voice.

In cases where an OBi is in a remote location, configuring via the portal is very useful.

If you do configure  via the portal, you can still use the local access to observe the settings. In fact that is the only method to see the OBi's Call History.
