Title: random touch tones while talking
Post by: Kamakzie on December 02, 2011, 05:24:18 PM
I keep getting random loud touch tones during calls.  My friend doesn't hear them but they are really loud on my end.  I thought it was her pushing buttons but its not.  I use Via Talk on SP1 and Google Voice on SP2.  Any ideas?

For the service in question, try setting DTMFMethod to InBand (this may degrade outbound DTMF reliability, e.g. when accessing IVR systems).

Or, try changing DTMFPlaybackLevel for the Phone port from -15 to e.g. -60.  (If that helps, it won't eliminate the beeps, but should make them much softer.)

If no luck, please post:  Do you have the problem with both GV and VT?  Calling both her mobile and her landline?  Who is her landline provider?

I tried your first suggestion for now.  We'll see how it goes.  She uses VOIP through her cable system which is Buckeye cable.

Still happened with only 1st option used.  So I fixed it with option 2.  Waiting to see if its softened.

EDIT: still happens but as you said it softens it quite a bit..  Thanks!
