Title: Buying new Wifi Router --any impact to existing OBI200 ?
Post by: xdafly on July 11, 2023, 07:48:08 AM
Back some 7 years ago, I connected the following to existing Netgear Nighhawk R7000 router

OBi200 - Wired as 192.168.1.112

If I purchase a new TP-Link AX5400 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX72 Pro) on Prime Day sale today -- do I need to "configure" something on the OBi200 which works perfectly fine today ?

Just plug OBi200 via LAN cable to new router and that's it ?

You might need to redo the IP address setup.  The subnet and DHCP pool of the new router are not necessarily identical to your existing one.

If the OBi is configured to get its address by DHCP you should connect it to the new router, wait a few minutes for the router to fully boot, then power cycle the OBi.
