Title: Dial 9 first first for 911
Post by: skytoastar84 on January 29, 2012, 06:37:32 PM
I just want to make sure I'm not doing this wrong. I live in University housing and the land line requires you dial 9 before making outbound calls and so a 911 call is 9-911. This is explicitly said on the campus IT website, too. I've modified my phone port DigitMap and OutboundCallRoute and would like some feedback to make sure I'm not doing it wrong.

DigitMap now includes: ...|9911|...
OutboundCallRoute: ...{(<#:>|<911:9911>|9911):li},...

So if I'm not mistaken, if someone dials 911 or 9911 it will dial 9911 on the line port, right?

Thanks.

DigitMap would need to be  ...|911|9911|... in order to handle both 911 AND 9911.

Awesome. I guess I wasn't explicit but I added |9911| to the default digit map, which includes 911. Thanks for the confirmation!
