Title: POTS When Internet Is Down
Post by: isw845 on February 08, 2012, 04:37:56 PM
Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was a way to have the Obi110 automatically route calls through the LINE Port when there is no internet connectivity. I have a UPS setup, and I was wondering if this would be possible rather than having a separate POTS phone.

Thanks

You can dial **8 then the number you're calling to have it route through the LINE port.

No.

You can also simply press # and you will be presented with POTS dialtone directly.

Since many people buy an OBi to eliminate their long distance costs, if the device automatically used the POTS line in an internet outage, you'd be incurring long distance costs without knowing it, so automatic wouldn't be a great option for many.

Maybe they could loop you to the Auto attendant and then you decide if you want to make the call or not..
