Title: [S]Can someone explain the Caller ID displayed on VoIP.ms sub-account?
Post by: Robert.Thompson on February 17, 2012, 06:58:09 AM
Hello:

I am testing my new VoIP.ms sub-account.

I set it up as SP2 on my OBi (not ObiTalk) and when I made a test call by dialing **2514593nnnn, the call display on my cell phone showed: 514 447 nnnn.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Also, how do I set my SP2 as my Primary Out-Bound number using my OBi directly, not OBiTalk.

Edit: I found: Setup Wzard -> Outbound Settings ->Phone PrimaryLine. I guess that's what I needed.

Thanks,

Normally, you would put the desired 10-digit outbound caller ID in the CallerID Number field http://wiki.voip.ms/article/Sub_Accounts .  I don't know whether it's possible to set it dynamically from the OBi.  You can set custom caller ID values for specific contacts.

Thanks Stewart. :)

I don't know why it gave me that caller ID and when I tried it again, it gave me another caller ID.

I did what you suggested and the call id is now correct.
