Title: [S]My VOIP test seems to be failing - any help would be appreciated.
Post by: Robert.Thompson on February 20, 2012, 04:24:05 PM
I have been testing OBi VOIP to replace a Bell Canada 1-800 in/out line as it is very, very expensive. The first 2 weeks seemed to be OK, ie, no callees complained about call quality. Today it was very different - people complained constantly about call quality.

The only change that I have made (last Friday afternoon) was to add a sub-account for a DID in Florida.

The test setup:
1. Location is about 17 miles north of Hawkesbury QC on Lake Harrington - 819 area code
2. Obi 110
3. VoIP.ms Account using the montreal2.voip.ms server
4. Internet access through Groupe-Access Broadband Wireless Internet.

I do not know if there are tweaks etc to ensure better call quality. I am using the OBi 110 default settings.

Could it be VoIP.ms? Would Anveo be better? Some other SP?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rob.

I logged into my VoIP.ms account and selected the 'Premium' services setting where ever available and will see how it works today.

My problem was with the VoIP.ms server, montreal2.voip.ms.

My test continues...
