Title: When you forward a VOIP DID to a landline, is it VOIP call quality or LL quality
Post by: Robert.Thompson on March 02, 2012, 11:53:11 AM
Hello:

Will the call quality be that of VOIP or that of a landline?

Thanks,

Rob

If you're having the OBi 'forward' an incoming VoIP call to the LINE Port, the OBi simply makes an outgoing call using the LINE Port and bridges the two together.  The result is two individual calls connected in series, so the quality can't possibly be any better than the worst of the two.

I meant that if I am having trouble with my VOIP reception (High Speed Wireless) and I forward my VoIP.ms to my actual phone line and, disconnect my OBi altogether, will the call on my phone line be of VOIP or landline quality?

Thanks,
