I have a device in a remote location that I've been tinkering with. First, it was trying to set up call forwarding and delay for GV voicemail; now it was setting up auto attendant. And it happened twice: after a dozen changes (that required rebooting the device) it finally hangs.
First time it came back to life after unplugging and then plugging back. I assume that it will be the same this time as well - although there is nobody there to actually do that :-\
Don't know what causing it - but I was wondering if anybody else saw that as well...
The exact same thing happened to me; see http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=1948.0 .
I suspect that there is a DHCP-related bug and that setting up static IP would make it more stable. However, don't do that remotely, unless there is someone on site who can re-enable DHCP or do a factory reset, in case something goes wrong with the static setup.
If you are remotely managing other equipment at unattended sites, consider buying a device that will allow you to remotely control power. I use http://www.opengear.com/product-ip-power-9258.html ; there are also several home automation devices with this function.
That's exactly it! How did I miss it your post :-[
Well, I'll be there in a week. It's not that unattended to warrant another piece of equipment...
I finally got on location. All the lights were off - even the power light. After unplugging and plugging back in, it came back to life.
I set it to Static IP. Let's see if it hangs again. Well, my dad is back in a week; so it won't be unattended any more :-X
