Title: GV issues vs Obi device issues
Post by: skipro on April 20, 2012, 03:08:09 PM
I frequently have issues using Obi with GV. How do I differentiate which is at fault. I dial, get ring, no one answers. Person I called says they pick up and no one is on the line. Also sometimes people call me and it rings for them but never rings my phone.

skipro,

If you make another call with GTalk to the same number right away you will notice the difference if any. If you have problems with the call it is likely a Google related issue.

when you have a problem call, check the call history in your google voice page and also check the Obi's call history.
Once you know if the calls are getting delivered then you can narrow down the fault.

although the majority have no trouble, many have reported audio problems.

How do I access Obi's call history?

Log into the OBi using the IP address returned by dialing ***1 (default username/password = admin/admin).

Using the left-hand navigation pane, go to : Status -> Call History
