Title: SOLVED: Choppy audio (OBi110+GV+WL520GU+Tomato)
Post by: gogogo888 on March 11, 2011, 12:03:57 PM
Hello, I got the OBi110 testerday and I set it up with Google Voice, running it with
WL520GU + Tomato 1.28, I can hear the other party very clearly but they
consistently hear choppy audio.

I have Ooma setup in the same network which
works perfectly. I tried using the Obi in different hours, but still having
the same problem.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

P.S. My skype works perfectly too.

If Skype and Ooma don't have outgoing audio problems, it doesn't sound like you're running into an uplink bandwidth issue.  Have you tried the same calls using your PC's speakers and microphone from your Gmail account to verify the problem isn't with Google Voice itself?  If all else fails, you might try connecting the OBi diectly to your broadband modem to eliminate your router as a possibility.

I think I figured out what the problem is, I cannot have Ooma and Obi plug into the same router at the same time.

I unplug Ooma and now my Obi is working perfectly.

Hope this can help out people with choppy audio problem.

I had a similar problem with Obi110 + GV and solved it by switching to CallCentric. I suspect it's an issue with GV.
