Title: OBI110 not falling back to line during power loss
Post by: chip on May 03, 2012, 03:19:21 AM
I currently have the OBI110 with GV and PSTN. After installation, I verified that all of my outgoing calls are through GV and all incoming are PSTN as expected. It was a very easy setup process.

My analog phones are all corded.

I wanted to test the fallback to PSTN when power is lost so I pulled the power adapter. I can't get a dial tone, it's absolutely dead. I verified PSTN is still active and if I connect an analog phone to it, I get the dial tone on that phone but still nothing on the OBI phone side.

I read that an internal relay is used for fallback on power loss. Any suggestions why this wouldn't work?

I can't specifically hear a relay but I assume it's a rather small and quiet one.

I did some searching on the forum and found that hardware version 3.4 lacks the fallback relay.

Makes sense.
