Title: obi110 auto attendent - default option
Post by: Mike2012 on August 01, 2012, 03:27:04 PM

When I add a number to trusted callers, they get a menu of 3 choices on calling obi number. Is there a way to default this choice to '2' (making a new call) so that they can call obi and then enter new number followed by # (without having to choose '2' first)?

Mike2012,

Do you plan on the OBi to always act as a gateway in the fashion that you are describing, or do you expect to keep it flexible and allow callers not in the COT to ring the phone directly? If you intend to keep it exclusively as a gateway I have an idea that may work.

I'd like to keep it flexible.
I was wondering if there's a way to store the number in trusted caller's address book so that it makes this menu selection. e.g. Can we store this number in trusted caller's mobile phone address book-
4085543345*2*0114476543777#

Here 4085543345 is the obi number. * represents a way to add pause. Is something like this possible?

Mike2012,

Yes it is possible.

If it is going to be a frequently called number, you may consider dialing a previously setup speed dial number in the OBi itself. It might shave a second off the dialing time.

eg:
4085543345*2*X#

Where X = speed dial slot
4085543345 is in the COT

A related question -
Is it possible to replace the auto attendant voice with my own recording?

Mike2012,

Not only can you record your own voice prompts, within the limitations of the OBi you can use it to
1) by pass GV voice mail

2) setup 99 virtual extentions
e: 99 Virtual extensions available via the OBi (possible since v 1.30)

3) Automatically dial AA 1, 2, or 3 using prerecorded 1, 2 or 3 dial tones.
