Title: Will Exclusion/Privacy device work with Obi
Post by: dwestall on September 07, 2012, 11:13:35 AM
I have the Obi connected to my house wiring, with 2 phones connected, one in my office and one in the kitchen. I want to install an Exclusion/Privacy device in the kitchen. That way, if someone tries to use that phone when I'm on the phone in my office they won't interrupt the call.

This device connects to the phone wiring at the jack. If the voltage coming into the device is over 24V, then it conducts and will allow the phone to get a dial-tone. If it's less than 24V (other line is in use), it doesn't conduct and the phone is dead.

Will this work with my setup?

Thanks,
dw

dwestall,

Are you sure you need this device. The OBi has a barge in feature. You need to push buttons in order to conference into an ongoing call. (barge in)
