Title: Voipcheap registration failing
Post by: Gavo on November 29, 2012, 04:44:30 AM
Hello,

I cannot get a voipcheap.co.uk account to register on my Obi110 - simply get

Register Failed: 403 Forbidden

The one thing I've noticed is that the voipcheap logon is by a username (e.g.  user = freddy , pw = fghdjdjd    and not username = 127564, pw gdhgdnjd )
Is the Obi110 expecting a number ? Can I put in a username instead ?

Cheers

Gavin

According to Voipcheap these are the settings:

  SIP port : 5060
  Registrar : sip.voipcheap.co.uk
  Proxy server : sip.voipcheap.co.uk
Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your VoIPCheap username
Password : your VoIPCheap password
Display name/number : your VoIPCheap username or voipnumber
Stunserver (option) : stun.voipcheap.co.uk

Voipcheap is basically an outgoing calls only service. As such is does not require registration. I use it on a Voice Gateway using the following settings:

Name   voipcheap

AccessNumber   sp2(sip.voipcheap.co.uk)

DigitMap   (00xx.)

AuthUserID   username

AuthPassword    password

In this example sp2 must be configured for sip.

Just set up my voipcheap account. Only need to fill out 3 items, proxy, username and password. Works great for both outgoing and incoming calls (was lucky to get free paris did's given out many years ago)
