Title: Alternate rings by call source?
Post by: win32 on December 07, 2012, 10:52:10 PM
Does the OBi support alternate ring patterns for calls coming in via landline vs Google Voice or whatever?

There were some ring selection drop-downs in the advanced setup interface but they were read-only for some reason...

Voice Services SP1/2 have an X_RingProfile setting. By default Profile B is for Australian tones, which means if you dial out you will hear different dial, busy or ring tones using that profile.
It is similar to the British system with a 'double ring' incoming and outgoing.
You can manually edit the individual tones, too, by copying and pasting.
Putting back the checkmark will restore the default if you make a mistake.
Read  Tone & Ring Patterns in the Admin. Guide.   http://www.obihai.com/OBiAdminGuide.htm
Some settings may not be available from the Dashboard.

Hah I'm a dope - my cordless phone handsets have their own rings, so they don't care what the ring pattern is.
