Title: Google chat speed dial
Post by: giqcass on January 28, 2013, 05:28:19 PM
The Obi uses google chat to receive and place calls.  Why can't we add Google chat friends as speed dials?

You can already do this.

* You need to be logged into goggle voice on a tablet or computer,
* select contacts;  select the contact you want to call
* Click "call"
* A "Make a call" pop up box will open up
* Select Google Talk and click connect

Your phone will ring, answer and then you will hear the phone ringing as it places your call.

Enjoy

That is not the same as a speed dial.  I want to pick the phone up and use a number to connect to a Google talk friend.

giqcass,

It is possible to call GV contacts using the OBi speed dial. It has already been discussed. Have a look.

So what is unique about the OBion app vs using the Google Talk client?

3) From the phone attached to the OBi I could reach my GTALK APP on the computer using the speed dial number in the following
format: sp2(nameX@gmail.com)
OBi->Computer (GTLAK client) Yes (with speed dial)

Thanks, that is what I wanted.  I'll have to try it out.
