Title: Automatic failover of 'PrimaryLine'
Post by: fredder on March 04, 2013, 05:34:16 PM
I currently have 'PrimaryLine' set to SP2 service.
Is is possible to have an automatic switch of 'PrimaryLine' to 'PSTN Line'
when SP2 service loses registration?

fredder,

The only way to achieve this is by using trunk groups. Have a search on this forum for that subject and come back with any questions you may have.

Be aware if using trunk groups, any OBi may take some time to detect that registration has been lost, so it may not be an instant switch. Also, be very careful of where you are directing your 911 calls to.

I also found that setting up a trunk group and setting it as the PrimaryLine you lose voicemail notifications.
Setting it to Sp1 and after a reboot, shows the Voicemail with shutter tone. When set to Trunk and reboot, no shutter or visible voicemail waiting indicator.

I had mine configured to use another provider as a failover if registration went down as well.
