Title: HELP--getting "Out of Range" message; google voice collided with google talk?
Post by: ekeby on April 11, 2013, 05:30:35 PM
I was talking at home on the phone when another call came in. It went to voicemail, but I heard a sound to indicate a new call and then I was disconnected from the person I was speaking to. I immediately lost the ability to get a dial tone. Each phone (on my uniden system) gives a "connecting" message, then ends with an "out of range" message.

I have no idea how to proceed. Have unplugged the obi modem and restarted, but same result. Downloaded firmware update. No change. I don't even know if this is a google problem or Obi. Where do I start?

That doesn't sound like an Obi issue.  The out of range message is your cordless unable to talk to the base.  Have you plugged in a regular phone to the Obi to see if you have dial-tone?
