Title: Can OBI-110 pick up incoming call and continue ringing handset?
Post by: HappyCamper on June 01, 2013, 03:01:28 PM
Hi,

First of all let me give praise to Obihai.  What an AMAZING product line at an AMAZING price.  Thank You!

I want my Obi to pick up all incoming calls, and optionally say "Your call is being connected", and then ring the handset.

The reason I want this behavior is that I want to use my handset's answering machine after the longest possible number of rings (ie the ans. machine will decide when to pickup).

Is this possible?  How?

Thanks!

Not exactly.

What you can do is to have the answer machine pick up. It can play a ringback sound for an interval. Then the talking part of the message happens. Then the machine records. Or just have the message saying that you may be on the way to the phone, but end up with leave a message.

Some answer machines play the audio during the message time. You would want one of those maybe.
