Title: Failed to add device
Post by: weborific on June 29, 2013, 06:35:28 PM
Hi.  I've never been able to add my Obi202 device on the Obitalk dashboard.  I've been using WAN config but was suggested by Obi support team to use Obitalk as I'm having issues.  The error I get is:

Failed to add device: This device is customized for another service provider and cannot be added to your account!

This happens even though I do a factory reset on my Obi and nothing is configured.  Any suggestions?  THANKS!

Are you sure you have an OBi202 and not an OBi302?

Hi, Shale.  Thanks for the reply.
Yes, it's a 202.  I've finally opened a new ticket for this and while replies from Obi tech are slow, it seems they're looking into it.  The problem might be that I purchased this from Ebay from what turned out to be a VOIP provider.  I don't know if they have these units registered for their VOIP services ONLY or if there's some root configuration for THEIR services...
If that's the case, they should NOT have sold them publicly to non-customers.  We'll see what Obi tech finds...
