Title: Resolving Poor Call Quality
Post by: checkobi on October 08, 2013, 08:10:45 AM
I've recently set up a 202 but am experiencing poor call quality.  Callers frequently complain that I am cutting in and out although I can hear them fine. I have a cable modem and routine checks show 12- 26 Mbs plus in download speeds and about 5Mbs upload speeds.  I'm connected to the router via Wi-Fi.

Any ideas on improving my call quality?

Confirm to yourself that the problem is with competing uploading going on by disconnecting or powering down the computers, and making test phone calls. How many computers are sharing that bandwidth?

Then search for QOS to make sure that your OBi202 has the solid 0.1 Mb upstream capacity that it needs during calls.

You may want to try this simulated VoIp test.

Their speed test is also interesting.
