Title: Obi 100 lost IP address
Post by: JohnSeiffer on October 24, 2013, 12:19:59 PM
My device seems not to be connected to the LAN. When I pick up the phone and dial *** 1 it says "IP address not available". When I try to call out, I get a dial tone but the calls don't get a response from the service. However when I log onto my router and look at the DHCP table I see the obi with an IP address. When I try to get to that address from my browser it times out.

I have reset the device (both from my phone *** 9 and by unplugging the power.)

Any thoughts?

Power-cycle your router.

Thanks. That worked for one call. Then it crapped out again. I moved the ethernet cable to a different port on my switch and it seems to be working now.

Either that fixed it or the fact that I sacrificed a chicken at midnight and stabbed a voodoo doll. Something worked.

I like to tell my router to always give my OBi the same IP number each time.
