Title: What's the difference between a sip2sip connection and a ITSP virtual extension?
Post by: Usetheforceobiwan on November 17, 2013, 05:51:30 PM
I have a question that pertains to the difference between a peer to peer connection like the one provided by sip2sip.info and a virtual extension provided by the likes of callcentric and voip.ms.  I know when you use sip2sip it is like a SIP trunk without termination and that dialing instructions are passed through as part of the connection.  How about when you make a call from one extension to another with say callcentric, is there the same potential to pass dialing instructions as part of the connection or do extension calls assume termination at the end point and that's it?

If a callcentric extension connection cannot be made to perform similarly to sip2sip, does anyone know of any alternatives to this type of connection that sip2sip provides?  It can even be a paid service if the price is reasonable.

If you have an OBi at both ends, then you can pass information through the OBiTALK link between them. See:
