Title: A Google Voice question.
Post by: Jackson on February 15, 2014, 09:43:57 AM
I search around a bit and I'm a bit confused.

After Obi no longer works with GV will:

- My GV number still function and ring my cell, and if I add my Anveo number that also?

- Will it work without my computer being on?

THX

Calls to your GV number will ring any number you have forwarded them to so long as those numbers are under your control and can verify that.

GV never required a computer to be on to ring forwarded phones.

The major change is going to be that we can't place outgoing calls using google voice. By putting a voip provider such as Anveo or Callcentric in the loop we can still get incoming calls to the Obi from our google voice number. Outgoing calls will also have to be placed through a voip provider, but those providers not have caller id spoofing so we can have our google voice number show for our outgoing caller id, even though the call doesn't actually go out through google.
