Title: GOOGLE doing away with VOICE?
Post by: Miichael on March 19, 2014, 03:39:50 PM
I read today that Google appears to be going to STOP "Google Voice" and go with a different program, "Talk.....[something]"......IF and When that happens that means we LOSE our phone service thru OBI - right?

You are going to lose GV service through OBi devices from 15 May 2014 irrespective of this rumour.  This has been known last last October.  http://blog.obihai.com/2013/10/important-message-about-google-voice.html.  There are many threads and hundreds of posts about that in these forums.

They're merging google voice features with hangouts, much like they did with google talk, g+ messenger and sms. You'll still have your gv number, and hopefully have the ability to forward calls to it.

But yeah, google voice support for obi ends may 15th anyways.
