Title: PSTN to GV
Post by: ukcables@gmail.com on April 25, 2011, 04:30:25 PM
Hello, I am wanting to setup Obi 110 so if someone calls my PSTN, the call gets routed to my GV. So, I can  block callers, etc... and only have my phone ring from approved callers that call my PSTN.
How would I set that up?

Many Thanks

You can filter callers in the LINE Port InboundCallRoute:

{(12341234567|13451234567|14561234567):ph},{sp1(18005551212)}

This would send 12341234567, 13451234567, and 14561234567 to your phone and all other callers to 18005551212 via SP1.

BUT, STILL, I BELIEVE YOU WILL GET TO GV VOICE MAIL:

If you call your Google Voice number through Google Voice, you will get your voicemail.  You can forward incoming PSTN calls via Google Voice, but you don't want the forwarding number to be your Google Voice number.  You want it to be your cell phone, your work number, etc.

in order for the Obi to forward a PSTN call it will call out on sp1 or sp2. If you have your main GV set up on sp1 and want to forward the calls to that number, you will need to set up another service on sp2 and have the Obi use sp2 to forward the calls.

If the Obi forwards the calls on sp1 to the same GV account set up on sp1 all calls will get the google IVR because the incoming caller id will be that of the same google voice account.

You can get a second GV number for free and set it up on sp2 so the Obi can use it to forward calls to your main GV number. The bad thing is all incoming calls from the Obi to your main GV will have the caller id of the second GV number. So you will not be able to filter the calls in GV, you will have to filter them at the Obi and forward the unwanted calls. In your GV set a contact for the second GV number and choose to send all those calls direct to voicemail.
