I have severe doubts that it is currently feasible to implement a fit-for-purpose SIP phone entirely in Java.

What is the reason for your question?

Could you explain why you are fixated on java? What platform are you looking for? Pretty sure people here can recommend quality (free) clients for any of the major platforms.

Thanks for replying,
Well we have a junky "feature phone" it's not andoroid or apple so I thought perhaps there was a simple way to make it work with the Obi 100.  I'm pretty sure it's using J2ME.
